The Nintendo Wii was my first console. My parents gave it to me at a young age, around 4-5 I'd say. I don't remember the first game they got me, it could have been Super Mario Galaxy, because I remember them talking about getting me a Mario game at some point. It could have also been Wii Sports, after all, that is the main game of the Wii. This all happened around 13-14 years ago. SMG was released in 2007, Wii Sports was released in 2006. I will die on the hill that SMG and Wii Sports are some of the greatest games ever created. Over the course of my Wii's lifespan I expanded my collection with Iron Man, Wii Sports Resort, Call of Duty 3, The Conduit, The Conduit 2, Mix Superstar, Super Mario Galaxy 2, PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, and a lot more. The Nintendo Wii was one of the greatest consoles ever created. I loved Mix Superstar. It is a real shame they shut down the Wii Shop Channel.
This was my second console. Ah, this silver bundle of joy was an absolute treasure back in the day. This, like the Nintendo Wii predates my time with the 360, I believe. I got introduced to Pokemon through Pokemon:Soul Silver on this device, and Pikachu's Adventure on the Wii. Although I never did get far in Soul Silver because younger me was not so bright. I remember being stuck in a tower full of Bellsprouts. I also remember playing an Iron Man game, and was stuck on level two for a long time. I learned of the treasure known as Super Mario 64 DS through one of my dad's old associates. I would sometimes stream games from the Nintendo Channel to my DS. Fun times. The DS is probably my least played console, even though it is now my oldest one, I believe. I unfortunately gave my original Wii to my brother, and never saw it again. So I got a replacement last year.
This is my third console. It was given to me around 2012 I believe. One of the first games I ever played was the Amazing Spider Man. I've always kind of liked Spider-Man, I've seen several cartoons, played a few games (like 3, web of shadows, edge of time, et cetera). The 360 era was awesome because my brother got me and my dad into Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. That was the first ever CoD game I owned, but not the first one I played. The first one I played was Modern Warfare 2, years before I received my 360. I played it at my brother's apartment during our time visiting him when he went out of state. I played some of the greatest games ever created on that console (Black Ops 2, Red Dead Redemption, Halo 4, Wars, Minecraft, Terraria, GTA 4, 5, the Modern Warfare Trilogy, Ghosts, Fallout: New Vegas, Titanfall, and many more. The 360 era of gaming was truly a grand era.
This is the fourth console that I have ever used. The Xbox One was what propelled me into a new generation of games. Before the One I had just been playing older games on the Wii and 360. Not to say the games on the 360 or Wii were bad, they were some of the best I have ever played. The Xbox One was something new, and fresh. Young me was delighted to get into it. I played GTA, Gears of War, Halo, Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, and I was able to keep and play a lot of my older games. I was ecstatic when BO2 was made backwards compatible. Initially, at least. I noticed there were a lot of cheaters popping up more and more. That drove me to eventually stop playing for a long while. BO2 still remains one of the best COD's ever created.
This marks the fifth console that I own. My dad once bought a PS4 from BestBuy around 2015-2016. He mainly played Call of Duty: Ghosts, and I mainly played Infamous Second Son and First Light. This is also the first PlayStation I have ever owned. I have been active on PSN ever since 2016, so as of right now it has been 8 years. This means the PS4 is the one I have sunk the most time into. A lot of the bangers were played on here. You have titles like Dark Souls Remastered, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Titanfall 2, For Honor (pre core combat update, of course), PlayStation VR, Persona 5 and Royal, Ghost of Tsushima, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, et cetera. Much time has been sunk into this console, and many laughs had.
